BIRTHDAY MAKEUP | BEAUTY REBELS

MAC Mineralize Skin Finish in Global Glow, Laura Geller Gelato Swirl Illuminator in Ballerina, No7 Loose Blush.

Smashbox Shape Matters Palette.

MAC Satin Lipstick in Twig, MAC Matte Lipstick in Velvet Teddy.

Hey guys and welcome back. It was my birthday recently, on November 3rd and I wanted to do something a bit special for my makeup for my 16th birthday. Today I thought I'd share the products I used.

BASE: starting off with a bare canvas, I prepped my skin with the Embryolisse Moisturing Cream and left that to sink into my skin for about 30 minutes. For my birthday, I wanted a nice flawless base to make it look extra special so I used my beloved NARS Sheer Glow Foundation in 'Punjab'. I dotted this on my face and blended it out with a damp beauty blender in a dabbing motion. To conceal my under eyes and any other scars or blemishes that were still showing, I used my Maybelline Fit Me Concealer in the shade '20' (which you can tell is much loved as the writing has rubbed off!). Then to set everything in place, I used the 'baking' method to set my under eyes with the Rimmel MATCH Perfection Loose Powder in 'Translucent'. I tend to prefer more of a dewy finish so I didn't powder anywhere else on my face.

CONTOUR/ BRONZE/ HIGHLIGHT/ BLUSH: To warm up my complexion, I used the bronze shade from the Smashbox Shape Matters Palette and swept that over my cheeks. I then used the contour colour which was slightly deeper and cooler in tone to sculpt out my cheekbones and contour my nose. I used the glow shade to highlight the top of my cheekbones, the bridge of my nose, the cupids bow and my inner corners. To add a subtle flush to my cheeks, I used a tad bit of the No7 Loose Powder Blush (not sure what shade sorry).

EYES: For my eyeshadow, I used the taupe shimmer shade, from the Smashbox Shape Matters Palette, all over my lid and added the light warm toned brown on top to warm up the look. In my crease, I used the dark brown to define the crease and add a bit more depth to the look. I then added some of the Sleek Mascara and then lined my lash line with the TOPSHOP Gel Eyeliner in 'Ink'. I winged this out, and to finish off my eyes I applied the Eyelure False Eyelashes in 170.

LIPS: I lined my lips with the Rimmel LipLiner in 'Cappuccino' and then applied the MAC Lipstick in 'Twig'.

And that's my birthday makeup!

I also included some pictures of some of the makeup I got for my birthday including the MAC 'Velvet Teddy' Matte Lipctick, the MAC Mineralize Skin Finish in 'Global Glow' and the Laura Geller Baked Gelato Swirl Illuminator in 'Ballerina'. These were all from my friends, thank you!

That's it for today's post, will be back soon with a haul and product review.

PRODUCT REVIEW: MAKEUP REVOLUTION BLUSH PALETTE | BEAUTY REBELS

MAKEUP REVOLUTION Blush Palette in 'Hot Spice'

Swatches in natural light
Swatches in flash photography

Hey guys! I'm back today with a product review on the Makeup Revolution Blush Palette in 'Hot Spice'. This palette contains 8 beautiful blush shades ranging from matte colours to shimmers.

In this palette, there are four matte shades and four shimmer shades including peaches, pinks, mauves and a pale highlight colour. I find this palette very versatile and I believe it will suit all skin tones, ranging from light to dark. For the price, I believe that this palette is well worth the money, the blushes are smooth and are easy to blend, I don't fine them to be chalky whatsoever. Before using this palette, my initial expectations were low as the palette is so inexpensive therefore I expected to be of a low quality. But after trying these I was blown away!

As you can see from the pictures above, the shades look gorgeous in both natural lighting and flash photography. You obviously wont apply the blushes as heavily as I swatched them so I'm sure they will suit a range of skin tones.

Brand: MAKEUP REVOLUTION
Price: £6
Shades: 8
Packaging: Sleek, black plastic case with a large mirror inside

The formula is rich and creamy, although they are powders, which means that they glide on to the skin and blend seamlessly. The matte shades add a nice natural flush to the skin, the shimmers are a little less natural because of the specs of shimmer but none the less look beautiful on the skin. The highlight is a pinky tone and looks really nice when brushed over your blush to make you look like you're glowing from within. In the palette, there is one marble shade which is a sheen formula with peach and fuscia undertones. It again works well on top of what you've already brushed onto your cheeks.

Overall, I highly recommend this palette as its great value for money and the product itself is brilliant, I am sure that the other colourways this product comes in will be just as good. MINI HAUL | BEAUTY REBELS

L-R: Sanctuary Spa Fresh-Faced Purifying Wash, Ted Baker Body Spray, Johnson's Face Care Makeup Be Gone Moisturising Wipes (repurchase), Yes to Cucumbers Soothing Facial Wipes, MAC Satin Lipstick in 'Twig'

Hey guys! Today I'm back with a mini haul, let's get started! Firstly, we have a miniature of the Sanctuary Spa Purifying Face Wash which I have yet to try, but it claims to clear your skin to create an even skintone which sounds great. Next is another miniature of the Ted Baker body spray, I'm not sure which one it is but it has a very fresh scent which is nice for the Summer-Autumn transition. The Johnson's Moisturising Wipes are a repurchase, if you read my June Favourites post, you would know that I absolutely loved these so I repurchased them since they are my favourite makeup removing wipes. I also bought the Yes to Cucumbers Facial Wipes as I have been wanting to try this brand for their skincare, and thought trying their wipes out first would give me an idea on how their products react on my skin. Lastly, my favourite of them all is a new MAC lipstick in the shade 'Twig'. I haven't used this yet because it's just too pretty! But I'm sure I will love it and will use it soon enough. It's similar to Velvet Teddy, which I had but sadly lost, but is slightly darker and has more of a pink undertone as opposed to brown.

Hope you enjoyed this quick post,

COLLECTIVE HAUL | BEAUTY REBELS

L-R: LUSH Grease Lightning, LUSH Mask of Magnaminity, LUSH Angels on Bare Skin

L-R: SEVENTEEN Miracle Matte Loose Powder, NARS Sheer Glow Foundation in 'Punjab', Essence Eyeshadow in '08 apricotta', MAYBELLINE BROWsatin pencil in 'Medium Brown', GIROGIO ARMANI Luminous Silk Foundation in '4.5', TOPSHOP Liner in 'INK'

TIGER small vases/ pots (I use these for makeup and brushes)

NIKE Revolution 2 Gym Trainers

L-R: JOHN FRIEDA sheerBLONDE Colour Renew Purple Shampoo, Embryolisse Lait-Crème Concentré

Hey guys and welcome back! Today I have a collective haul.

I purchased some new skincare products from LUSH and picked up some of the most popular things they sell for skincare (and for dry skin of course!) I picked up the Mask of Magnaminity (repurchase) which works great at unclogging pores and is very refreshing due to the peppermint in it. I also picked up the Grease Lightning spot treatment which works great and reducing the size of spots as well as redness, it also works great at preventing spots that have not yet reached the surface of the skin. The last product I picked up from LUSH was their Angels on Bare Skin face and body scrub, this is brilliant at exfoliating and is delicate enough for my very sensitive skin.

Next are some makeup goodies! I purchased two foundations, the Girogio Armani Luminous Silk and the NARS Sheer Glow which I have reviewed on my blog already. (link:
http://maariahrasool.blogspot.co.uk/2015/08/foundation-review-nars-sheer-glow-vs.html?m=1). I picked up the Seventeen Loose Powder to try out the famous 'baking' method of setting your makeup and I thought this would be a great inexpensive powder to try out as I didn't want to splurge just in case I didn't enjoy the method. I purchased the Essence Eyeshadow in '08 apricotta' to use as a highlighter, I find that this is the perfect shade for my skintone and is smooth and  not chalky whatsoever. The last two things I picked up were the TOPSHOP gel eyeliner in black, it's creamy and very black, and I bought the Maybelline BROWsatin pencil in Medium Brown.

I bought two small pots for my makeup brushes and makeup products from TIGER. These look sleek and match the theme of my room and look very pretty.

I love NIKE trainers! I needed some new trainers for the gym so picked up some Revolution 2's in a grey colour with cobalt accents. These are very comfortable so are great to work out in.

I bought the John FRIEDA sheerBLONDE Purple Shampoo which works great at toning your hair, it brightens the colour and makes the blonde look natural. Lastly, I picked up a new moisturiser, the Embryolisse Lait-Crème Concentré which is a hydrating cream, it works great for my dry skin.

Hope you enjoyed today's post,
